Jim Plantico oversees the development and implementation of CEP’s vital direct service programs, dedicated to transforming homes into safe, comfortable, and energy-efficient spaces for marginalized households. His work is crucial in addressing not only energy needs but also fundamental health and safety barriers like lead paint, asbestos, and mold—ensuring dignity for vulnerable residents, particularly seniors and people with disabilities, who wish to age in place. Jim champions innovative approaches to overcome challenges such as the critical need for roof replacements, which are often essential for enabling comprehensive energy upgrades.

Prior to joining CEP, Jim co-owned a residential contracting business specializing in whole-home care and energy efficiency remodeling. This background provides him with invaluable insight into the structural and maintenance issues that frequently impact CEP’s clients, informing his strategic leadership in program development. Jim holds a B.S. in Marketing Communications from the University of Oregon.

In his off time, Jim enjoys cooking and exploring methods to prevent food waste, reflecting his deep appreciation for basic needs and sustainable living. He finds profound joy in the simple pleasures of a full stomach and the dignity that comes from having a secure and comfortable place to call home—values that are at the heart of CEP's mission.
