Staff Spotlight

Community Energy Project is proud to provide a variety of direct, in-homes services and educational workshops, and participate in important advocacy work. Behind all of these vital efforts is a team of vibrant, multifaceted, and hardworking individuals. We are excited to introduce the CEP Staff Spotlight, a series dedicated to the people who make everything we do possible.

First on the list are CEP’s In-Home Services Technicians: Aleksey Chernysh and Yuriy Zaslavskiy. Aleksey and Yuriy are bilingual and their primary language is Russian.

    • My goal is for all my clients to be satisfied with the work I do.
  • If you had to pick one meal to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be?
    • Fish and vegetables.

Yuriy Zaslavskiy

In-Home Services Technician

  • Favorite quote or piece of advice: “Measure twice, cut once.”
  • Describe your role at CEP and what makes you passionate about your position.
    • I am a technician in the In-Homes department. I do small repairs for our clients, including installing grab bars, handrails, smoke, and CO alarms, slip pads, faucets, toilets, and many other things. I like to try new things.. When I started working at CEP, I didn’t have much experience in many things, but, year after year, I got it. Every time I see a happy glance from a client when a job is complete, I feel even more passion about my work. Also, my passion increased when I felt how CEP cared about their employees, especially when COVID started.
  • What is your work background and one unique skill you bring to CEP?
    • I have experience in computers and software. I started to help our company with supporting IT infrastructure and users in that. I repaired and upgraded the hardware of computers and laptops, renewed old versions of software, and installed antiviruses and other software that users need for their job.
  • Describe one accomplishment you’ve made at CEP or a goal you have for the future in this role.
    • I have had many different experiences in my position, but the best part is having new experiences. My goal is to start working in the management of CEP, like an IT manager, and develop and implement software that will facilitate and make the work of all employees more comfortable, reduce the use of paper documents and allow management to see the process online in different areas and the big picture of growth for the whole company.
  • If you had to pick one meal to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be?
    • Uzbek plov and shashlik (lamb pilaf and shish kebab).
