Community Energy Project is proud to provide a variety of direct, In-Homes services and educational workshops, and participate in important advocacy work. Behind all of these vital efforts is a team of vibrant, multifaceted, and hardworking individuals. The CEP Staff Spotlight is a series dedicated to the people who make everything we do possible. Today’s spotlight shines on CEP’s Data Specialist & Admin, Kamerin Vesajd.

1. Describe your role at CEP and what makes you passionate about your position.

I provide organization-wide support through data cleaning, analysis, and reporting, while providing internal admin and IT support. I’m very passionate about CEP’s mission, and I love supporting it by building data systems and streamlined workflows that strengthen program delivery and help teams work more effectively.

2. What is your work background and one unique skill you bring to CEP?

I’ve spent over 10 years in the nonprofit sector in a range of roles, including Public Relations, Event Planning, and Data Analyst. Beyond data work, I’ve developed strong skills in community-building and leadership. That experience has given me a flexible skill set and deep compassion for supporting our community in my work at CEP.

3. Describe one accomplishment you’ve made at CEP or a goal you have for the future in this role.

In collaboration across multiple CEP Departments, I’m proud to have led and rebuilt our Salesforce (CRM) database, which has improved CEP Program data entry and management workflow. Some of my next big goals moving forward is to build Data-related training content for all staff and complete a Data Equity analysis report.

4. If you had to pick one meal to eat for the rest of your life, what would it be?

I would pick Bánh Xèo, a dish that originates from Central Vietnam. It’s a savory stuffed crepe made with a batter of rice flour and coconut milk. Inside you’ll usually find things like ground pork or chicken, shrimp, toasted shredded coconut, and bean sprouts. It’s combined with a side of fresh herbs and veggies, which includes lettuce, mint, cucumber, and more. It’s a very hands-on meal where you break off a piece of Bánh Xèo, wrap it in lettuce with the herbs, then dip it in fish sauce!
