About the In-Home Weatherization Program
Since 1987, CEP has organized volunteers to install energy-saving materials in more than 2,500 homes of low-income senior citizens and people with disabilities in Portland. Program participants also learn about behavioral changes that save money and energy.
In-Home Weatherization Program BrochureWhat We Do
Community Energy Project's In-Home Weatherization Teams install energy-saving materials, implementing draft-stopping measures to lower heating bills, stay warm, and conserve energy. We install
- Reusable, internally-mounted vinyl storm window kits that can roll up for the summer
- Door weatherstripping
- Compact florescent lights, outlet & lightswitch gaskets, caulking, and more
Working with Volunteers
With the help of volunteers, CEP is able to serve clients faster in the weatherization season, and people have a chance to meet other members of their community. We work with businesses of all sizes, schools, non-profits, churches, and more. To learn more about volunteering, please see the Volunteer page.
