What a great day of service in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
In partnership with Hands On Portland and the United Way of the Columbia-Willamette, many Portland area charities, including Community Energy Project, offered volunteer opportunities to those who would like observe the great Dr. King’s day of remembrance by giving service to their communities.
Despite the freezing cold, snow, and icy weather, 16 volunteers came out to CEP to lend a hand to those in need. The group donated their time to weatherize three senior and people with disabilities’ homes in Portland. All together they were able to install 24 window weatherization kits that will save these home owners on their energy bills and keep them warm and toasty the rest of this winter.
CEP would like to thank all the community members for braving the winter elements to give their time and talent to give back to their community.
